The SPIN Sunday League is a social, fun and yet competitive Table Tennis League hosted and facilitated by
SPIN Social Club at their Flatiron location
in New York City. Played for over 5 years and more than 20 seasons, the league is organized and coordinated by Gordon Ho
(aka The Mayor) who is as well a big Ping Pong afficionado.
The league is divided in two main categories, Intermediate Players and Advanced Players, though players can choose which
of these categories they want to play, the organizers recommend players to assess themselves to play at a level that will
remain fun for all players. The Intermediate League is recommended for players with an estimated USATT Rating of 1100
and under while the Advanced League is recommended for players 1100 and above. The organizers will always reserve the
right to rate and categorize players accordingly to ensure the leagues remain fun and competitive for all players.
A regular SSL season will have a schedule of about 8 weeks. Players meet up once a week (Sunday Afternoons) and play system
randomized matches to accumulate points, wins are worth 5 points and losses are worth 2 points. Players then are ranked
based on total points gained; the top 16 players qualify to play the Playoff for the Championship.
